The 6 rhetorical building blocks needed to speak persuasively

Are you in a position where you need to create and present a clear and compelling speech? "There is a secret language of leadership — and it’s one that anyone can learn" says Simon Lancaster. Lancaster shares the 6 rhetorical building blocks which can help you speak directly to people’s instinctive, emotional and logical brain, and they are extremely effective.

1: Breathless sentences or phrases (helps communicate urgency to an audience)

2: Speaking in 3s (makes it sound more compelling, more convincing, more credible)

3: Balanced statements (our brain is tuned to like things that are balanced)

4: Metaphor (the most powerful piece of political communication)

5: Exaggeration (they echo how we speak)

6: Rhyming (a pleasing informational snack that sticks in your memory)
